SEASCape Session 1 Begins!

Tasha Greenwood, SEASCape RA

SEA Semester

Today was day 1 of SEASCape session 1! 28 students arrived this afternoon, from all over the US and International. After checking in, we held orientation and students got their first taste of life in our little Woods Hole community. Sabrina cooked us a delicious dinner, after which all students returned to the Madden Center for an overview of the two classes they will be participating in this summer.

Oceanography will cover biological, physical, chemical, and geological facets of the planet's oceans. Oceans and Society will be a literary and scientific voyage around the Atlantic Basin, exploring the ways that humans interact with the oceans. We ended the day with some Get-to-Know-You games, and soccer on the lawn. We are thrilled to have this great group of students here for the next 3 weeks, and excited for the upcoming lessons and adventures!
