SEA Semester Alumni Recognized at Regional AFS Conference
Congratulations to three SEA Semester alumni who recently received the 2015 Best Student Poster Award at the New York Chapter of the American Fisheries Society Conference in Lake Placid, New York on February 5!
The students – Luke Gervase (SUNY College of Environmental Science & Forestry), Callie Bateson (Rollins College), and Gracie Ballou (University of Vermont) – presented their research on eel larvae biodiversity that they began while participating in the Spring 2014 SEA Semester: Marine Biodiversity & Conservation program. The work was mentored by Drs. Amy Siuda (SEA), Linda Amaral-Zettler (Marine Biological Laboratory), and Ann Bucklin (University of Connecticut).
The 2015 SEA Semester: Marine Biodiversity & Conservation program will begin on March 23 in Woods Hole, followed by a research voyage from San Juan, Puerto Rico to New York City.
This program will next be offered in Spring 2016 and is currently accepting applications!
