Fun in Boston

SEA Semester

Ben, Alexa, and Nick onboard the USS Constitution.

Today for our trip to Boston, we got up 30 minutes earlier to get ready for a 2-hour school bus ride. The first place we stopped at was the USS Constitution Museum. Here we learned about the vessel, and learned about its rich history. The vessel was built in the 1790's, and witnessed the earliest wars in US history, including the famous War of 1812. After an hour tour of the museum, we went to visit the USS Constitution itself. The ship had actually been the largest of its time, and has been kept intact since.

There are several rooms modeled to look like they did when they were inhabited by sailors. Then we took the water taxi to the New England Aquarium. One of the first exhibits we saw was the Shark and Ray Touch Tank, where we got an up close look at several species of small sharks and rays. Then, we visited the penguins on our way to the huge reef tank. This housed several sea turtles, thousands of species of fish, and a new shark!
