All over the island!

Spectacular with liquid sunshine and rainbows abound!
Today we ventured ashore for a tour of Grenada with our outstanding guide, Mandu. Our journey began travelling north along the west coast of the island with picturesque views of tiny bays and harbors and a narrative of the island's complex history. The bus chugged up the steep volcanic hillside and brought us to our first swim call (aka Sierra Charlie) at a waterfall! The already high spirits of the group lifted even further as we played in the cool, rejuvenating mountain waters.
We visited a cocoa factory and sampled lots of freshly pressed chocolate. Grenada is well known for its delicious spices, and many of us took the opportunity to stock up on nutmeg, cinnamon and the like. We took a short wander in the rainforest around the crater lake, enjoyed another Sierra Charlie at a quiet beach, and learned about the agriculture of Grenada. This island offers so much natural sustenance grown in fertile, nutrient rich volcanic soils. We've sampled some for snacks recently, including soursop, passion fruit, very sour "oranges," callalou, and tiny sweet bananas. As steward, learning about the local crops was especially exciting, and the volcanic terrain was pretty sweet too!
The group had a magical day, and we are so sad to say farewell to our students. Thank you all so much for your hard work on board and in the galley! Be well kiddy cats!
