Hello everyone! Today has been quite exciting and the night is young! This morning at about 0900 we arrived in Cruz Bay, St. John to clear customs. This meant that everyone had to take a dinghy ride to the island, something I always enjoy! After clearing customs and eating lunch, we had an epic field day to get the Cramer ready for the next group of lucky sailors! This involved not only the usual music and candy but a special pump up from our own Chuck Lea. After field day, the swimming pool was open! I think this is a favorite for everyone on the ship. Jumping off the boat and swimming in this beautiful water was much needed after the cleaning we did today! Now, after swimming, I’m quickly writing the blog before another great meal with even greater people! After dinner, we will have the famous “Swizzle” party that I’ve heard so much, yet so little about! Can’t wait to see what it is!!
And what would a second to last day blog entry be without some sappy words? As my time on the Cramer is coming to an end it’s really incredible to think back on how far we have all come since day one. It’s amazing to see this group of students who came here knowing nothing about sailing now able to run this ship and go forth with such confidence. I want to thank all of my classmates for acting as a family to me and being so wonderful. I’ve had the time of my life out here and I think I speak for us all when I say we will truly miss our time here and look back on it with great fondness. I have collected an awesome assortment of trinkets on this journey (such as my JWO necklace, a flag from the Grenadines, a painted coconut, some artwork, a bag, and two shrunken cups) and seen such beautiful places but most importantly I have met incredibly wonderful , intelligent, hardworking individuals whom I will always remember. You have taught me so much about myself and I doubt I’ll ever learn this much again about anything in six weeks!!! I’ll miss each and every person from the C251 family. Peace and love!
Hi Mom! See you soon! Love you lots! And tell Sammy and Alex- we’re going to go for the longest walk when I get home. And then snuggle for daysssss
