I am pleased to report that all is well on board the Corwith Cramer. As we rock and roll our way across the ocean life is looking quite nice for the C-251crew. Sails are set, the fish are jumping/flying, science is happening, the daystar is burning, & the fishing line is out.
As a Galley representative (Assistant Steward) I feel it is my duty to report that our scientific sailors are being fed properly. Each day Jenny (the Steward) and I do our best to bombard the ships company with food. Meals are served in two seatings while we are underway. The triangle rings for the first breakfast seating at 0620 and the second at 0700. A morning snack is out at 1000. The first lunch is served at 1220, and the second at 1300. An afternoon snack is out by 1600. The two seatings for dinner are at 1820 and 1900. Finally, a midnight snack is on the hutch for all throughout the night. Folks are not going hungry on our watch.
For all of you back on land wondering how your person out here is holding up, please let me share some examples of students already being great shipmates during our short time at sea. Emily made sure her fellow shipmate had a proper layer on sunscreen on while laid out on the deck box fighting the good fight against seasickness. Kyle rolled out of his bunk for breakfast reporting, I did not sleep at all with the biggest smile I have encountered before 0700. Jade reported that she was all rainbows and sunshine as she scrubbed pans this morning. Mo has great timing checking in to see if the galley needs help, just when the galley is in need of a little extra help. Brendan is already planning what delicious treats he is going to be making everyone. Everyone is looking out for each other and spirits are high. However, you do not have to take my word for it, you will be hearing from all of them soon enough. Tomorrow students will add blogging to their ever-growing list of responsibilities. Stay tuned.
Hello Gaia, I hope you & Nev don’t miss me too terribly while watching Downton Abbey.
