South of Puerto Rico
Weather / Wind / Sail Plan
Sunny and HOT
We have spent the last couple of days sailing our way to Puerto Rico. Last night was our last dawn watch for C-watch and the last watch we will ever have on this boat L. Dawn watch is always difficult but we kept ourselves awake with puppy chow and just making each other laugh. After six hours of making up songs and just being loopy, all our dreams came true when at 0640 a bunch of dolphins came to play in our ship's wake! We ran around the boat yelling for everyone to come up and see the dolphins, they ended up staying around for thirty minutes or so. Then we had a delicious breakfast and c-watch passed out until it was time to start cleaning as we were making our way to San Juan for our last port stop.
Once getting into port we got started on customs and field day. After field day we were rewarded with some birthday celebrations for Bryant, the big TWO-ONE, by eating all the apple pie we could. I'm glad his thumb finally healed so he could have more fingers for eating pie with. Now we have chillax time before dinner and the much anticipated SWIZZZZZZLLLE. Swizzle is entertainment provided by the crew, usually in the form of skits, dances, or music. Lucky for everyone else, I am in fact the MC for tonight. Which means I get to organize the swizzle and introduce the acts. Swizzle is also like a going away ceremony for the rest of us, as tomorrow morning we get kicked off the boat and sent on our merry way.
Looking back I'm sad to be leaving some of the coolest, weirdest, and funniest people I have met in a long time. But I know we still have a lot of life left and I can't wait to see where everyone ends up. Shout out to Bryant for being born, and the rest of the crew for making this trip so memorable.
