SEA Currents: SSV Robert C. Seamans
July 18, 2019
Last day on campus
Today was our last full day on campus, and we made the most of every moment. Despite the rain this morning, we completed our chores with extra vigor in order to leave the houses as clean as when wearrived. We enjoyed our last lunch on campus before heading up to the Madden Center for our graduation ceremony. As per tradition, we received certificates commemorating our completion of the program. We also received SEA pins. These pins, given to all SEA alumni, will help us to spot members of our community all over the world. After our graduation ceremony, we held an Olympic completion of sorts, including a scavenger hunt, a wheelbarrow race, a relay race, an egg pass, and charades. The competition was fierce, and ultimately team four took the gold.
After our Olympic competition, we returned to our homes for some free time before dinner. Many of us took this time to eat all the remaining snacks. After dinner, we upheld another SEA tradition by conducting a “swizzle”, SEA’s version of a talent show. The performances included a tarot reading, a Dvar Torah, and acapella. After our swizzle, we spent the evening watching Shrek II, one of the modern era cinematic classics. We are sad to leave campus tomorrow, but are so grateful for the amazing three weeks we have enjoyed here in Woods Hole!
