SEA Currents: SSV Corwith Cramer

November 24, 2017

Poem for C-Watch

Adrienne (Heartbreak) Wilber, 3rd Mate

Glacus Atlanticus

Ship's Log

Current Position
South of the sun

Course & Speed
Full and by, faster than a pteropod, slower than an albatross

Weather
Stable high persists

Souls on Board

at night we sail 'cross a mountainous seat
elusive sea dragon in plankton tow
all silver blue frills and lace spreading feet
a nudibranch clinging o'er depths below

Magellanic Clouds hover over our ship
sky neighbors splashing by billions of stars
as dolphins by pod do frivolous flip
celestial glow spilled from mystery jars

our stays'ls are drawing, our mains'l full
on white canvas wings our miles twirl by
with Bernouli's force 'cross the oceans pulled
we tally by Taffrail the miles we fly

so many wonders to open our eyes,
from surface sea sparkles to fore and aft guys.

Happy birthday to my incredible sister, the real poet in the family. Much love to all the friends and fam back home.
