Hi friends and family and Happy Halloween!

Today has been an eventful day filled with various Halloween events such as trick or treating, pumpkin carving, face painting and a costume contest. The science department also performed some Halloween themed experiments which was highly appreciated by the rest of the crew (might have been because of the involvement of m&m's, but the experiment was pretty cool too). A huge thank you to the amazing staff on the Corwith Cramer for putting all the activities together!! We even got a spooky start to our Halloween with some lightning during the dawn watch.

B-watch started the day bright and early for dawn watch (0100-0700), during which we spent most of the time zig zagging through clouds with lightning. It was not as terrible as it sounds, it offered some beautiful scenery and kept us busy and awake through the night. I was on extra look out since it was my time to be Shadow Watch Officer. It is a little stressful since it is a lot more responsibility. However, it is also really fun to notice how much you have actually learned during these weeks, and then be able to put that knowledge in action!

Towards the end of watch we also did some celestial navigation using the sextants and the morning navigational stars. I finally (!!!) managed to get a proper reading from a sextant. The sextant (or as I like to call them, the grumpy old man who knows everything and doesn't want to share) and I have not been good friends before, but thanks to some help from my watch officer Becca, the sextant and I are now on the recovery route. Hopefully we can have a great relationship in the future since being able to use a sextant makes you pretty awesome in my opinion.

I'd also like to wish my Dad a Happy Birthday! Stort Grattis på födelsedagen Pappa!! Hoppas din dag har varit grym. Saknar och älskar dig massor. Puss!

Mamma: Snälla ta med ett micro sd kort till min kamera, mitt gick sönder J Puss

Hope everyone at home has had a fantastic Halloween, we sure did! See you soon.

Ally Abad: This is all so interesting and exciting to read. It sounds like the adventure continues and we hope that you kept a journal. These days are surely ones to not be forgotten. We’re thrilled that you had the Squishie and hope ‘the ca’t brought you some comfort especially when you were out in those rough waters. WOW! Such different and unusual life happenings via life in the open waters. We’d love to hear details of some specimens that you collect. Guess no hope of an unusual sea shell! When we were in the FLA Keys a few years ago we almost had a head-on collision with a huge turtle as we headed out. That was so exciting yet disappointing because it was all too quick to capture a picture. That was a huge being but you may have seen more far larger. Happy Sailing! We look forward to the posts and know that your mother gets such relief in reading the updates. Happy Sailing!
