Souls on board

Yesterday we left the Chatham Islands and our last sight of land for a while. We got to enjoy the calm seas in the port for a little while and we all got to sit up on deck and enjoy the sun! Some people even climbed up the foremast as we were leaving and got some great views of the islands.

We crossed the International Date Line yesterday, so that is why this is our second Saturday blog post. Today the seas are a bit rougher, but the ship is still being circled by our constant companions, the albatrosses. We even have a few species of them around us. It's amazing to be able to see such large birds every time we go on deck and I hope that the stay with us for a while.

Friday I got to work in the galley for the first time and I really love it there! Sabrina is an amazing cook and I was excited to learn from her. But Friday was a very special dinner because it was "Fancy Friday". We all dressed up in our fancy clothes or just fun costumes and we folded fancy napkins for dinner. It just shows how fun and whacky our crew is and it's a great group of people to get to know.

Ahoy Adrienne:)

We truly hope you are doing well and enjoying life at sea.  It sounds like the galley is a fun place to be.  I can also see you playing your ukelele in the evenings singing at the top of your lungs smile

When you get this you can do a Happy Dance!!!!  By the time you do read this, the stairs will be redone, including the landing outside of your room, transition board and all!!!!!  We are adjusting to our construction digs: pantry stuff in the sunroom, sleeping in the basement, stuff crammed everywhere smile

I head to Pappy’s for the day today as we are trying to keep the dogs out of the way until the stairs are done.

Thanks for the postcard smile  We miss you a ton and hope that you are enjoying every moment.

Love,

Mum

PS:  I am working with Denise on the course registration thing.  No need to worry smile
