Docked in San Juan, Puerto Rico
Clear Skies, Full Moon, Winds East Force 4, 80°F
Greetings from the SSV Corwith Cramer, docked in beautiful San Juan, Puerto Rico. Today is the beginning of a five week voyage for class C-252, SEA Semester: Marine Biodiversity and Conservation. All of our students, visiting scientists and crew are now aboard ship and beginning to settle in to their new home. We will remain alongside the dock tonight while all hands take part in a thorough ship orientation and safety training. On Tuesday morning we will get underway and anchor the ship in San Juan harbor to complete our training. Upon finishing all of our required pre-departure training and final preparations for the voyage, we will set sail and depart for sea. The weather forecast is looking favorable and all hands are looking forward to an exciting scientific expedition through the Sargasso Sea on our way to Bermuda and then New York City.
