Hello, and welcome aboard the Corwith Cramer!
My name is Buckley Willis and I am more than pleased to be reporting to you live from the Bay of Biscay. This is some exciting news because it means that we one wave closer to our next destination, Lisbon, Portugal! And since I, and most of the crew, have never been to Lisbon the spirit aboard the ship could not be any higher. And while we grow more and more excited to explore this gorgeous port stop, the ocean does a good job at keeping us in the present and hard at work, or sleep, while we continue to sail on.
The past few days have seen little wind and have been rather easy on the watch shifts. In between the setting and striking of sails, we have been practicing our knot tying skills, testing Engineer Tom’s weaving formula, and making sure that we have our lines memorized. The captain even prepared a little friendly competition between the watch groups to see who knew the boat the best. The game was cleverly titled, Conoces Cramer? which is Spanish for do you know the Cramer? While the captain was having some fun with his Spanish, we have received several lessons in French and Portuguese from our Professor on board, Dan Brayton, in hopes that we will not be those tourists.
