The Wx (weather) is beautiful, but the ship is quiet with the students departed, as C-256 has officially ended. It was an epic voyage and truly impressive in the annals of SEA – many, many miles sailed with few engine hours. But what was even more impressive was the community that developed aboard. Bringing both Maritime Studies and Scientific voyagers aboard to augment the students worked out delightfully well, adding a depth to their SEA experience.
This endeavor would not have been possible without the positive hard work and vested passion of the ship’s professional crew – Nina in the galley, Mickey & Tanner in the Engine Room, Matt, Gabrielle & Jess in the Lab and Sarah, Willy & Kevin on Deck, supplemented by the three sailing interns – Farley, Michele & Caitlin. It was a truly fantastic crew who we were fortunate to have brought together for this Atlantic crossing. I am grateful for the rare and fulfilling opportunity of being Captain for this voyage.
To all, may the winds be fair [but of adequate strength!] and the seas calm [enough],
Sean
