Christabel Choi - C-103

Christabel Choi grew up among the forests and mountains of southern Oregon, immersed in nature but far from the sea. A chance encounter with a SEA Semester poster outside a geology class at Mount Holyoke College culminated in bringing the SSV Corwith Cramer into Miami harbor, under sail, on SEA Semester class C-103.  Following that experience, she lived in Seoul, Russia, Paris, and eventually San Francisco, loving any rare chance for the feel of a deck beneath her feet.  Now she can't wait to meet her fellow shipmates and head back to sea to find out what is going on in the North Pacific gyre.  Christa is leaving her children and business on shore with her husband and parents to join this expedition as writer, K-12 outreach, and crew.  Her younger son (8) and daughter (11) will be following the expedition with their science classes, while her older son (14) will be looking for SEA updates with classmates in his music school in South Africa.
