Optimizing the Intern Experience: A Woods Hole Workshop

The goal of the proposed workshop is strengthening undergraduate programs that seek to increase diversity in the STEM workforce.

The workshop objectives are:

  1. to review the past decade’s experience with undergraduate research internship programs that seek to encourage students from underrepresented minority (URM) groups to pursue careers in the geosciences
  2. to develop a blueprint for the future of such programs
  3. to continue and support efforts to strengthen collaborations between MSIs and geoscience education and research communities.
