Admissions - How to Apply

SEA is committed to making our programs affordable and accessible to all motivated and qualified students. We are able to work with you personally throughout the admission process.

The process includes specific steps and essential deadlines for the submission of forms and information.

The First Step

Request an application and related materials.

Application Checklist

  1. An Application Form.
    Download Application or apply online
  2. $45 Application Fee
  3. Financial Aid
    If you indicate a need for financial aid on the application for admission, you will be sent a financial aid application. Request information about the financial aid program at SEA.
  4. Two 300-500 word essays (Email essays to admission@sea.edu) Be sure to note your name on the essays.
    • Why have you chosen to apply to SEA Semester® and what do you expect to gain from your experience at SEA? How will SEA Semester® complement your education?
    • Submit a writing sample of your own choosing. (May be graded or not)
  5. High School and College Transcripts
  6. Two Letters of References
  7. Interview

SEA Semester Deadlines

We are currently reviewing applications as they are completed for all of the following semesters.

We recommend that you apply well in advance for your preferred semesters, regardless of priority date. Courses are filled on a first-qualified, first-enrolled basis. You should also check with your College Study Abroad advisor regarding their deadlines for you to arrange to study away from campus, which may be earlier than our priority dates.

Fall I - April 1, 2008 Begins September 2, 2008

Fall II – April 1, 2008 Begins October 15, 2008

Winter – June 1, 2008 Begins December 29, 2008

Spring I – October 1, 2008 Begins February 10, 2009

Spring II – October 1, 2008 Begins March 24, 2009

Summer – February 1, 2009 Begins May 20, 2009

Although a priority application date may have passed, we will continue to take applications for a term until the class is filled. Check with the SEA Admissions Office regarding available space.

Please also keep in mind that you will need to be sure you have a valid passport and have made appropriate travel plans well in advance of the beginning of your SEA program.
