I graduated last Spring from the University of Rhode Island with two B.Sci in Geological Oceanography and Marine Policy along with a minor in Creative Writing. Instead of going home and hanging out with Mom and Dad after graduation, I tried my hand at graduate school in the Rhetoric department.
Ha ha! Funny story. You live, you learn.
While I gained a great deal of respect for the history of rhetoric, I also learned that I'm unable to talk about anything besides environmental conservation. I also learned that I should probably pursue something along these lines. I hope I can help. While I reconsider my options for grad school, I'm coaching a high school sailing team located in southern Rhode Island. I also work for a scrimshaw artist in Newport, RI. I grew up sailing dinghies and was fortunate to be a part of the nationally ranked University of Rhode Island Sailing Team during my tenure as an undergrad. But, I have to say, SEA eclipsed all my other sailing experiences up to that point. Bow watch at dawn just cannot be beat.
That being said I, too, am also itching to get back to the open ocean.
