At the age of eighteen, I joined the United States Coast Guard and began my career as a professional mariner. The Coast Guard took me to places as far ranging as Canada, Alaska, Guam, Russia, England, Ireland, France, Germany, the Caribbean and thrice through the Panama Canal. My positions and responsibilities varied, but the highlight of my USCG career lasted five years aboard the Barque Eagle as Quartermaster/Boatswains Mate Chief. I retired from the Coast Guard and shortly thereafter began a new chapter of my sailing career with SEA.
I'm honored to be a part of this incredible organization, and especially this upcoming expedition! I'm excited to explore this new and different cruise track, and look forward to having so many alumni aboard.
When I'm not sailing I can still be found in and around the water – surfing, paddleboarding and small-boats – or building some combination of the three at home in Woods Hole.
