Scott Elliott, Videographer
Scott is a documentary film producer based in Brooklyn, New York. His recent documentary, about Cambodian monks working with AIDS orphans, is currently showing on Frontline/World. He co-produced, shot and edited the video. His first feature length documentary, Slumming It: Myth and Culture on the Bowery, about the history of the Bowery in New York City, aired on PBS in June 2005 and was produced by Mixed Greens Documentaries as part of their New Directors program. Prior to Slumming It, Scott directed and edited short documentaries for Mixed Greens. He studied filmmaking and history at Amherst College in Massachusetts. His 1999 thesis documentary video, Reflections from Sa Pa, Vietnam, about the effects of global tourism on a community in rural Vietnam, won honorable mention from the 2000 World Population Film and Video Festival. In 2001, Scott founded a production company, 590films, that produces films and PSAs for non-profit and corporate clients. He is also currently at work on a documentary about the World Trade Center Memorial.
