This is my first time working with SEA and I am very excited. I recently graduated from Maine Maritime Academy where I studied Small Vessel Operations. While in school I was president of the Sail Training Club, where we were able to educate students in the art of sailing. Unlike most of my classmates, I was raised in a small town out in the sticks in Connecticut. My family's only interest in the water was going to the beach every so often, and a fascination with seafood. In 6th grade I became interested in small boat building. This interest later led me to a high school called the Sound School which had a program for boatbuilding. It was at the Sound School that I was exposed to sailing and tall ships.
Throughout high school I worked on both the Schooner Phoenix, and the Quinnipiack. I then decided to go to Maine Maritime to fulfill my dream of becoming an officer aboard one of these ships. While attending MMA I was able to sail on vessels like the arctic schooner Bowdoin, Freedom Schooner Amistad, Barque Elissa, and the U.S. Brig Niagara. I am very excited to meet you all, and be a part of this amazing journey.
