Occupation: Program Analyst, International Space Station Office, NASA Headquarters
Washington, DC
Professionally, I work in the International Space Station office at NASA Headquarters. I divide my time between writing speeches and presentations for both the Space Station and Space Shuttle programs, and serving as the executive secretary of the Space Operations Committee of the NASA Advisory Council. I’ve done some pretty interesting things at NASA, from seeing rocket launches in Florida and Kazakhstan to running a contest which resulted in a space treadmill being named after a comedian. I also do some work with the National Lab effort on the Space Station. Educationally, I graduated from George Washington University (class of ‘04) and attended graduate school at the Johns Hopkins University (class of I’m-really-going-to-write-that-thesis-this-summer).
Personally, I enjoy biking and playing music. I also spend as much time on the water as possible- I lived aboard a 33’ sloop on the waterfront in DC for three years, before moving her to the Chesapeake Bay near Annapolis for another two after that (sold her last year- second happiest day of a boat owner’s life). During the sailing season, I crew on a J105 raceboat out of West River, MD.
