And thus began our exciting two-year adventure as Peace Corps Volunteers in the Philippines! Since we arrived in April 2006, we have experienced Mt. Mayon’s most recent volcanic eruption and two typhoons, Milenyo and Reming – the strongest to hit this area since the 1950’s.

Drew Minkiewicz (C-139) relates
his SEA experience to a career
in ocean and coastal law.
When I came to SEA I was eager to go sailing. I ended up discovering marine science and the importance of ocean policy and conservation along the way. I was shocked when we found oil in every neuston net tow, regardless of how far offshore the tow occurred. In many ways my time at SEA led me to my current career and involvement in ocean policy.
