Hello! My name is Lucy Nelson and I’m an Admissions Counselor at SEA Semester. I’m from Belmont, MA, and I recently graduated Colorado Christian University in Denver, CO with a degree in English Literature and Liberal Arts. I participated in SEA Semester during my junior year, in the spring of 2011. I was drawn to SEA Semester because of the rigorous academic and physical program, a combination that is difficult to find in most veins of academia. There is a unique sense of community and adventure that I was unable to find elsewhere, and my experience at SEA Semester exposed me to the challenging, breathtaking and rewarding world of life at sea.
Since my student semester, I have sailed on both SEA vessels and have become increasingly hooked on the thrill of the open ocean and the sense of community and family on-board the ships. I love living by the sea and spend as much time near the water as I can. If I can bike along the edge of the sea, even better.
I look forward to the opportunity of exposing you to the magnificent world of our oceans and the family of SEA Semester. Get ready to embark on the greatest journey of your life!
