Jason Quilter has been involved with SEA as a crew member on its ships since 2003, when he first sailed aboard the SSV Robert C. Seamans as Second Mate. He then began working as Chief Mate in 2004 and filled the Senior Chief Mate position in 2005. Jason's SEA command experience was earned aboard the SSV Corwith Cramer during several contract Captain positions which included one of SEA's High School Summer Seminars (Science at SEA), and the Williams Mystic program.

Jason's professional sailing career has spanned seventeen years on over a dozen different sail training and educational vessels. Working as Captain on several vessels has given him experience in vessel operations, education, office relations and crew leadership. Jason most recently sailed with SEA as the Faculty Captain for class C-231, our Fall 2010 Ocean Exploration program, which sailed from Woods Hole to St. Croix.
