Captain Terry Hayward

Terry Hayward came to SEA in 1980 with an undergraduate degree from NYU and a JD from Brooklyn Law School. While Terry remains a member of the New York State Bar Association, his professional passion has proven itself to be in education under sail. Terry sailed with SEA as a mate for a few years before embarking on his long career as one of our most seasoned ship’s masters with class W80. Terry has extensive experience navigating European, Mediterranean, Caribbean, and North and South Atlantic and Pacific waters. A lifelong resident of Cape Cod, Terry is at once a traditional New England seafarer and a highly effective modern educator.
