Driving Directions to Woods Hole

From Logan Airport / Boston (approximately 75 miles):

  • Take the Southeast Expressway (Route 3) to Cape and Islands.
  • At the Sagamore Bridge Rotary (53 miles), take the first rotary towards the Bourne Bridge along the Bourne Scenic Highway (Route 6W)
  • At the Bourne Rotary, follow the signs for the Bourne Bridge and go over the Bourne Bridge
  • Follow highway across the Bourne Bridge, go halfway around the rotary circle, and take Route 28 South toward Falmouth, Woods Hole and the Islands
  • At the next rotary circle, go halfway around and continue on Route 28 toward Woods Hole
  • After 14 miles Route 28 becomes a two-way road
  • As you enter Falmouth, continue south on Route 28 toward Woods Hole
  • SEA is 1.5 miles south of Main Street, 171 Woods Hole Road

The Marine Biological Laboratory campus is located in the village of Woods Hole. Campus buildings are located on Water and MBL Streets, just beyond the Water Street drawbridge

From New York City (approximately 261 miles):

  • Take 95 North through Connecticut toward Providence, Rhode Island
  • Once through Providence, take Exit 20, Route 195 East/US-6 East
  • Take Exit 22A onto Route 25 (toward Cape Cod and the Islands)
  • Follow highway across the Bourne Bridge, go halfway around the rotary circle, and take Route 28 South toward Falmouth, Woods Hole, and the Islands
  • At the next rotary circle, go halfway around and continue on Route 28 toward Woods Hole
  • After 14 miles, Route 28 becomes a two-way road
  • As you enter Falmouth, continue south on Route 28 toward Woods Hole
  • SEA is 1.5 miles south of Main Street, 171 Woods Hole Road

From T.F. Green Airport / Providence (approximately 75 miles):

  • Depart T.F. Green Airport, following signs to Route 95 N
  • From Route 95 N, take Exit 20, Route 195 East/US-6 East
