Why did you choose SEA Semester?

I knew I wanted to do it since I was in high school. I love the ocean and wanted to go out there for an extended period of time. It is weird because I had never gone any farther than the beach… it was like the sea was calling me… I think that in an earlier life, I might have died in a shipwreck or something.

What were the strongest aspects of SEA Semester?

It was great!

What were the most challenging aspects of SEA Semester?

Everything! I was challenged every single second, that’s what made it so great! The watch schedule was very intense. And there was so much stuff to do when you were off watch, it was rare to get any sleep. And you had to give it your best, to keep the boat going; no matter how tired or sleep deprived you were, or anything.

Words of advice for future SEA Semester students?

Be ready to be challenged like never before, and give it your best! smile Plan on staying around after your trip. You won’t want to leave the people or the ship.
